Resin.

Resin is something that I have never worked with or know anything about, so I took some time out to re-search it and find out what it really is and how it works.
I also took a trip to the ceramics rooms to speak with ( ..... ) . He/She told me that working with resin,.....'vgreherhe'

resin |ˈrezən|
noun
a sticky flammable organic substance, insoluble in water, exuded by some trees and other plants (notably fir and pine). Compare with gum1 (sense 1).
(also synthetic resin) a solid or liquid synthetic organic polymerused as the basis of plastics, adhesives, varnishes, or other products.(From what I've seen, resin looks 'plasticy', this led me too believe that the second definition was right).
Resin Moulds.

Found on a website, here are examples of fabric set between resin...

Simply, a flower...

Pendants formed with bits of metal and set in resin. Jewellery is popular within the resin culture.

Lastly animals and resin?...

Why do museums do this?...the photo above is actually an insect trapped within amber. It has been shown to keep extremely well through the natural preserving all the years ago in amber, so the substitute is resin.

Preserving things/collections like this is also shown through the use of TAXIDERMY and even back to the times of the Eqyptians, with the structure of MUMMIES.
