Pop-Up Museum & artinunusualspaces.co.uk

The event was put on by S-T-R-E-T-C-H, working in collaboration with museums and art galleries they create art events for specific groups, to help people access their cultural community and engage with society through creative arts.

Some of the third years had got involved and worked to get people engaged with paper mache letters they had put together for others to decorate. Chris and Claire, grabbed the letter C! Surprisingly! I think from looking at it now that we went with a lady-bug theme? It was very fun!...and I think a successful piece of work!

I also roughly photographed a case of butterflies that were at the pop-up museum...

Before we actually made it to/found the pop-up museum, a few of us got distracted by what we thought could be the museum? Put on by artinunusualspaces.co.uk, the shop appeared closed off from the public, but if you looked through little gaps in the window, manipulated papers from different artists appeared and from beginning to explore the different ways of putting books together it was a good insight into other possibilities.

This was the work of Sarah Mitchell

Her work related to books and folded consetinna books that Sarah at the print room had helped us put together. This was a big collection of them, placed carefully and was an inspirtation in how to approach the image of a book at first sight, also manipulating paper.

This was some cut out, pop-up work, I was particularly interested in this, as intricate cutting and possibly building an image through them is something I am interested in doing.

Another artist had used a stack of books and applied art work to the stack themselves. In this image you can see a person climbing a ladder up the books.
